Sue and Darragh's Station House Wedding Celebration

I think we’re a little bit in love with this wedding, this venue, and definitely this couple! Autumn at the Station House, Kilmessan Co. Meath – how vibrant, colorful, and simply joyous the whole day was from start to finish!

Sue and Darragh made the most of their big day by starting the excitement right on-site. With accommodation available at the Station House, the bridal party arrived a few hours before the ceremony, welcomed with champagne for a relaxed and celebratory preparation.

Wedding Ceremonies at The Station House Hotel

The Station House caters to the diverse preferences of couples. For those seeking a unique open-air setting, the “Turntable” allows you to exchange vows surrounded by nature’s beauty. And what beauty it was in late October. The Carriage Suite in the main house serves as an elegant indoor option. And for those looking for a traditional church setting, several beautiful options can be found nearby.

Under the Trees – an outdoor ceremony at The Station House

Tucked within the Station House grounds, the “Turntable” is a secluded open-air amphitheater surrounded by trees. Sue, Darragh and guests gamely embraced the October air, and vows were exchanged beneath a canopy of autumn leaves. Magical! Even a touch of rain couldn’t dampen the spirits – guests were provided with white umbrellas. A confetti-filled celebration marked the perfect culmination to this heartwarming exchange.

Indoor Wedding Ceremonies

The Station House Hotel’s Carriage Suite offers a gorgeous indoor ceremony alternative. Once a locomotive workshop, this restored space retains the original granite walls alongside modern decor and lighting. This versatile space accommodates both your ceremony and reception if you choose to hold your ceremony indoors.

Celebrating at the Station House

Sue and Darragh planned a wedding reception filled with personal touches and plenty of surprises. Following their ceremony, guests enjoyed an al fresco drinks reception on the Garden Terrace. As is tradition at The Station House, speeches were delivered outdoors before dinner.

Dinner is set back inside the Carriage Suite where 180 guests can be accommodated.

As the evening progressed, we were treated to a surprise performance by the The Hit Machine Drummers. We have seen these guys perform a few times and they are top class, always getting the crowd going.

After dark the festoon-lit trees at the “Turntable” are truely something to behold – and everyone was drawn to the dance floor for an unforgettable performance. The party continued late into the night with the sounds of The New Brass Kings, ensuring a vibrant celebration from start to finish.

Guest Accommodation at the Station House

Plenty of options to choose from accommodation wise – there are a number of luxury suites available to the wedding party along with some cabins for guest accommodation.

With thanks to Adrian O’Neill of Stay Wild Images for the use of some of his photos. A wonderful guy to work with, we just love his photography from the day. Thanks, Adrian!

We could not recommend Edithouse more highly. We absolutely ADORE our wedding videos. Emma is so so talented, she has such an eye for detail. You could watch the videos 20 times and each time spot something different that she has picked up on. We are beaming everytime we watch them. Best decision ever hiring Emma to capture our day. Thanks so much Emma, you are just amazing.
