A Virginia Park Lodge Wedding
Summer
Foodie heaven and wedding celebrations at Virginia Park Lodge
So much time and effort goes into planning a wedding but when it all comes together in a place like Virginia Park Lodge on a sunny day you can be sure it will be nothing short of sensational. Close friends and family enjoying themselves, outstanding food chosen by one of Ireland’s best known chefs, music, dancing and losing yourself in the joy of the occasion is what it’s all about.
Virginia Park Lodge, County Cavan, is one of those places that exceeds all expectations and stays with you long after the celebrations have ended, and for Cormac and Simona it was the perfect setting for their May wedding earlier this year.
Many thanks to Seán from Studio Lordan for allowing us use of wonderful wedding photography from the day!
Celebrating your wedding at Virginia Park Lodge
Owned and restored by renowned chef Richard Corrigan, whose own wedding took place here, this former hunting lodge is surrounded by acres of countryside, meadows, forests and of course the famous Cavan lakes.
With its rich historical features, stunning gardens and unrivalled food, this estate sets the perfect scene for a magical wedding experience. The private venue is exclusively yours for the occasion and between the main house, courtyard cottages and woodland huts, it can accommodate up to 125 guests onsite.
Venue Spaces
One of the standout features of Virginia Park Lodge is the variety of spaces available for different aspects of the wedding.
- The Pavilion: This purpose-built space can accommodate up to 300 guests, making it ideal for large weddings. The Pavilion is flooded with natural light and offers stunning views of Lough Ramor, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.
- The Marchioness Room: For more intimate gatherings, the Marchioness Room offers a cozy setting with a capacity of up to 90 guests. Its classic décor and warm ambiance make it perfect for smaller ceremonies or receptions.
- The Lodge: The Lodge itself provides a homely atmosphere, with several drawing rooms and a formal dining room that can be used for pre-wedding gatherings, smaller dinners, or as a relaxing space for the bridal party.
Wedding Ceremonies at Virginia Park Lodge
Licensed to hold Civil ceremonies and Partnerships, you can exchange vows in the main house or in one of the gardens as Cormac and Simona did. On an early summer’s day the sun came out as all had hoped it would and friends and family gathered in the gardens for a beautiful ceremony celebrated by a close friend.
Reception and wedding celebration meal
Pre-dinner drinks and canapés are served in the 18th Century Banqueting Room – it’s a tricky task but leaving room for the main event is a must at this venue, the food here is always absolutely divine, a real feast prepared with organic seasonal ingredients from the gardens.
The gardens not only supply Virginia Park Lodge but also serve Richard Corrigan’s acclaimed restaurants in London. In addition to the homegrown produce, the venue supports local farmers, sourcing additional produce from the surrounding area. The menu, designed by Michelin-starred chef Richard Corrigan himself, is served in the lakeside Pavilion.
