Cool Elegance - a Merrion Hotel wedding celebration

Want a seriously cool wedding? Something refined but fun and different?  Of course you do! So take a leaf out of Rachel and Stephen’s wedding book and make it a city centre celebration.  Getting married in the city is very underrated but done to perfection at the Merrion Hotel and you don’t need rolling hills and sweeping landscapes when you’ve got the one and only Dublin City as your backdrop.

Rachel and Stephen were pure city slicker sophistication for their special day. They tied the knot in a lovely civil ceremony at City Hall surrounded by close friends and family, then strolled around the streets of Dublin just enjoying the magic of their moment and the start of a new chapter together. With its glorious architecture, rich history and unique buzz, filming in Dublin city just hits differently.

Can’t be bothered with the traffic? No problem, get a horse-drawn carriage or make like Rachel and Stephen and just get a double-decker vintage bus for you and your guests to continue the fun as you make your way to the Merrion Hotel for the main party event.

Located at the heart of Georgian Dublin, the Merrion Hotel is a collection of historical buildings all beautifully restored and decorated in refined elegance.  Marble floors, antique furniture, open fires and a private art collection all come together seamlessly to create an atmosphere of relaxed sophistication.

Ceremony options at The Merrion Hotel

The Merrion Hotel caters for traditional, contemporary, humanist and multicultural ceremonies and is ideal for smaller weddings of up to 80 people. With several grand salons, reception rooms and a team dedicated to giving you a bespoke service, you can just kick back and enjoy the occasion knowing everything is taken care of to the highest standard.

Whether it’s the accommodation, location or activities you’ll want to enjoy before, during and after your big day, you couldn’t pick a better place that has everything at its doorstep for you and your guests.

Rachel and Stephen opted for City Hall for their ceremony, and it dovetailed perfectly with The Merrion – it’s tall ceilings and incredible architecture setting the tone for a hugely special day.

Dublin city centre is an understated but brilliant choice for a truly unique wedding experience and it was all smiles and celebrations throughout the day for everyone but especially for the gorgeous newlyweds, who made the entire day so memorable.

Thanks again Rachel and Stephen for such a fabulous day!

Emma is an incredible videographer! We were so hesitant about booking a videographer initially but it was honestly the best decision we made. She captured everything so beautifully and the edits were excellent, she's very talented!! She was a dream on the day too, so fun and blended in so well that we didn't even notice the camera. We would highly recommend!!
