An exquisite lakeside wedding at Ashley Park House

Ashley Park House is a beautiful 18th century country house sitting on a lakeside estate in Co. Tipperary. It is available to weddings for exclusive rental throughout the year and has become a firm favourite of ours to film at over the last couple of years. The views here are just incredible, the lakeside Ceremony Room being a genuine standout and a big factor in couples deciding to get married here.

Ciara and John had their gorgeous wedding celebration here last summer and it was a joyous occasion. They chose to have a first look – a growing trend among many of our couples who want to stretch out their day a little further.

By completing couple and family photo session prior to the ceremony, you gain an extra hour or so to fully enjoy that reception with loved ones.

And when you have Lucy Nuzum as your Wedding Photographer on the day you can further relax because you know those photos are going to be incredible!

Ceremonies at Ashley Park House

You can hold your Civil or Humanist ceremony onsite in the glass fronted Ceremony Room at the lakeside Boathouse in Ashley Park House. Ceremonies here generally start at 3pm.

The glass-fronted Ceremony Room overlooking Lough Ourna offers a breathtaking panorama, making it a truly one-of-a-kind venue. The front windows completely open out on a warm day and offers a clear vista of the water and the picturesque scenery beyond. It wonderfully maximizes the natural light and is just a gorgeous spot to hold your ceremony in.

If you are holding your Ceremony in a nearby church you will be aiming to get back to Ashley Park House before 3.30pm to make the most of the lakeside setting for your reception. Either way a greeting line after your Ceremony works very well in front of the main house on the steps.

Afterwards there are plenty of locations on hand for your couple shoot, the pier in front the Boathouse being an obvious spot, the Walled Garden and other nooks and crannys on the nature reserve to explore. We took our Drone with us on Ciara and John’s shoot and got some beautiful aerial footage.

Wedding celebrations at Ashley Park House

Drinks receptions here generally unfold in front of the house overlooking the lake or inside where there is a full bar. We had a lovely calm day for Ciara and John and their guests were able to make the most of the views with prosecco in hand, exactly as you would have hoped!

The Pavilion Marquee is situated right next to the main House and will seat 280 guests for dinner. It’s a gorgeously fairy lit, illuminated space, with a warm and intimate ambiance. The Marquee is where the dancing takes place, and it also accommodates the bar, which we believe enhances the atmosphere for dancing and craic later on.

Thank you again to Lucy Nuzum for use of her photography for this article – take a look at her wedding photography portfolio for more gorgeous photos and indeed many thanks to Ciara and John for allowing us to share their day here.
